8 Marches in 8 Pictures-A Basque Feminist Momentum

My work as an activist researcher and rape survivor aims at capturing the local and transnational claims, as well as the transformative dynamic of the feminist activist community in the Basque Country, northern Spain. These photographs were taken during the 8M demonstrations, on International Women’s Day 2020, which saw the merging of the feminist, LGBTQA+, and the Basque pro-independence movements against patriarchal violence affecting women and marginalised communities.

Featured Pieces

Sign in Spanish reads: “We would have been more [here] if you hadn’t killed them”
